The Stack and Tilt Swing by Michael Bennett download in ePub, pdf, iPad
By focusing on the fundamentals of keeping centered with the weight forward, the swing becomes more consistent leading to better ball striking. So many average golfers struggle with that out-to-in swing path that produces spin sending the ball right. This goes against conventional golf wisdom but almost insures an inside out path. In addition, straight arms help prevent a golfer from swinging too far across the ball, which can contribute to a slice. It is a much simpler process that can truly help the average golfer.
Or you can add pieces to your current technique, based on what will make the biggest difference to the flight of the ball. Its contrarian but it might be just what the average golfer needs to improve their ball striking. Centered A main fault that many golfers face is that there is way too much movement in their golf swing. But, in Stack and Tilt, the goal is to continually shift the weight forward during the downswing. Now, in slow-motion, make a downswing, ensuring that your weight is traveling forward.
But these guys are pros for a reason. Instead, I think they were two guys who had a keen understanding of the basic truths of a golf swing, and put a fancy label on it. From my understanding, this weight distribution is a result of the mass of the club being moved toward your back foot during the backswing.
Weight Forward One of the most difficult concepts to grasp in the golf swing is the proper shift of weight from backswing to downswing. Unlike most golf instruction that focuses on grip, stance, alignment, and posture, Andy and Mike take a slightly different approach. Many opponents to the Stack and Tilt argue that shifting the weight forward will result in a loss of distance. Just like a field goal kicker comes on a inside path to the ball no longer do they approach the ball straight on.
We recognize that the true fundamentals are the ability to hit the ground on the same spot with every swing, with enough power to play the course and enough mastery of shot direction to play it well. Furthermore the instructors also believe that by bringing the hand on an inside path it will create more power for the average golfer.
